MBNA Cal Ripken Jr. 400 - Dover Downs International Speedway

 

Junior Dominates Dover Downs
Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the MBNA Cal Ripken Jr. 400 at Dover Downs International Speedway in dominating fashion. Earnhardt led a race-high 193 of the race's 400 laps to win for the second time this season and the fourth time in his Winston Cup career. Jerry Nadeau had a season-best finish of second place, following Earnhardt to the finish line. Ricky Rudd, who led 169 laps on the day, came home in the third spot, while points leader Jeff Gordon finished fourth. Tony Stewart rounded out the top five.

Jarrett on Pole at Dover Downs
Dale Jarrett will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday for the MBNA Cal Ripken Jr. 400 at Dover. Jarrett turned in a lap of 23.238 seconds, at an average speed of 154.919 mph, to give him his fifth start from the top spot this season. Jarrett donated the $5,000 Bud Pole Award to the American Red Cross Relief Fund. Bobby Labonte will start from the outside pole, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Jarrett's teammate Ricky Rudd in row two.
