J.R.'s Garage to Launch In-Store Promotion February 1

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (December 17, 2001)- J.R.'s Garage is the home of the official trackside apparel and merchandise of Roush Racing. In a bold and innovative marketing concept, Roush Racing will give its 5000 retailers direct access to its merchandise with the tools and support they need to sell them. Beginning February 1, J.R.'s Garage will move full throttle into the one of the most aggressive marketing campaigns that race fans and storeowners have ever seen.

As NASCAR's fan base continues to grow at an alarming rate, Roush Racing felt the time was right to offer its retailers a "one-stop SuperShop (concept) with nonstop sales" with its wide variety of racing collectible products.

The J.R.'s Garage "Authorized Dealers" promotion will give its retailers the opportunity to display in-store signage and participate in breakthrough national consumer promotions with compelling prizes-from limited edition autographed photos up to a new Stage 3 Roush Mustang.

Interested retailers will first sign up as "Authorized Dealers" where they immediately get a starter kit, including signage, banners, decals and in-store merchandising systems. The Authorized Dealer signage should also increase their in-store traffic and sales, but more importantly, enter their store into the 2002 race season promotion.

An exciting series of two SuperShop Sweepstakes-"Go Green" and "Checkered Flag"-with two separate drawings, will be conducted exclusively through "Authorized Dealers" who qualify. By simply placing a ballot box inside the store, customers can enter to win prizes.

Sweepstakes prizes include all-expenses-paid trips to the 2003 Daytona 500, Homestead/Miami and The Winston, as well as a limited, Jack Roush signature edition, supercharged Stage 3 Mustang-the fastest production Mustang in the world. Customers will also win special visits with the winningest race team in Ford history, Roush Racing, and spend time with its drivers and owner, Jack himself.

The first sweepstakes, Go Green, will begin February 1 and run until March 15, 2002. The JACKPOT prize for the first sweepstakes is an all-expense-paid trip to the 2002 season ending Homestead-Miami race weekend and the opportunity to fly on Roush Air with the Roush Racing Winston Cup race teams. The first prize is a trip to The Winston at Lowe's Motor Speedway and the second prize is an official Roush Racing team jacket.

The second sweepstakes, Checkered Flag, will begin May 1 and conclude June 15, 2002, where the Jackpot prize is the Roush Stage 3 Mustang. The first prize is a trip to the 2003 Daytona 500 on Roush Air, and the second prize is a Roush Racing team jacket.

As Roush Racing began making plans for its promotion, it also knew that creating incentives for each dealer would also be important. Dealers have the opportunity to win VIP weekend trips along with press events at their location. The more customers that participate at each store, the more opportunities a dealer has of winning.
