Roush Racing recently accomplished something that's rarely done
in NASCAR - a complete sponsorship program turnaround in the middle
of a Winston Cup season. As of October 8th at Lowe's Motor Speedway,
Jeff Burton no longer carried the Exide Batteries sponsorship on
his car, uniform, transporter, or any other part of his race package.
Instead, every member of the Roush Racing team shifted into high
gear and worked long hours to turnaround the entire program to display
the new markings of the new sponsorship, CITGO SUPERGARD, in only
a matter of weeks. And that's a lot easier said that done, especially
in the short time frame the team was given.
Take a closer look at what all took place to get the job done:

"I can't believe everything got turned around so quickly," CITGO
SUPERGARD driver Jeff Burton said. "Every detail was covered, even
down to the last decal. This is a first for us, and I don't know
of any other race team has completely changed a sponsor in mid-season.
We've got such a great group of people working here, and there
aren't many other teams that could pull something off like we did
in such a short period of time."
Roush Racing credits its business partners that assisted with the
immediate turnaround and gives special recognition to the following:
CITGO Petroleum, Roush Sports Group, Motorsports Designs, ADM Wear,
Simpson, OMP, Pit Gear, Stern Graphics, Action Sports Photography,
Nick Pastura Motorsports Studios and Cox Marketing.
"This is a true testament of how important our business partners
are," Roush Racing President Geoff Smith said. "It was truly a
team effort by all parties involved, and I couldn't be more pleased
with how easily it flowed together. Everyone pulled long hours
to get the entire program turned around, and we are thoroughly impressed with the outcome."
Roush Racing is the largest motorsports team in the world with nine
teams in NASCAR's three major series: Mark Martin, Jeff Burton (based
in Mooresville, N.C.), Kevin Lepage, Kurt Busch and Matt Kenseth
(Concord, N.C.) in the Winston Cup Series; Martin and Burton in
the Busch Series; and Greg Biffle and Busch (Livonia, Mich.) in the Craftsman Truck Series.
