Stewart Wins Again in the Rain
For the second time this season, Tony Stewart was the victor in a rain-shortened race, this time taking the win under the red flag at the New Hampshire International Speedway. Stewart led for 158 of the 272 laps in the thatlook.com 300, which featured two red flags due to rain. Stewart becomes the first three-time winner of the 2000 season and moves to fifth in the Winston Cup point standings, 215 points behind point leader Bobby Labonte.
Wallace Grabs Seventh Pole
Rusty Wallace scored his seventh pole position of the 2000 season, grabbing the top starting spot for the thatlook.com 300 at the New Hampshire International Speedway. Wallace turned in a lap of 28.835 seconds, at an average speed of 132.089 mph, to break yet another track record. Wallace will be joined by John Andretti on the front row, followed by Roush Racing teammates Mark Martin and Jeff Burton in row two.
