NAPA Autocare 500 - Martinsville Speedway
Stewart Wins Back to Back
Tony Stewart roared to Victory Lane on Sunday, winning the NAPA Autocare 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Stewart held off Dale Earnhardt by .672 seconds to claim his second win in a row and his series-leading fifth win of the season. Stewart won for the eighth time in his career and claimed his first-ever win from the pole position. In the chase for the Winston Cup championship, Earnhardt now trails point leader Bobby Labonte by 213 points.
Stewart Grabs Martinsville Pole
Tony Stewart grabbed his second pole position of the season, taking the top starting spot for the NAPA AutoCare 500 at Martinsville. Stewart turned in a super-fast lap of 19.855 seconds, at an average speed of 95.371 mph, to break his own track record and take his fourth career pole. Rusty Wallace will join Stewart on the front row, starting second, while the Burton brothers, Jeff and Ward, make out the second row.
