Stewart Masters the Monster Mile
Tony Stewart brought out the broom at Dover Downs International Speedway, sweeping both races ran at the Monster Mile this season. Starting 27th, Stewart roared to the front and cruised to a 6.752 second win over second-place Johnny Benson. Stewart led 163 of the 400 laps on the day to win for the fourth time this season and the seventh time in his career. Stewart has an average finish of second in his career at Dover Downs. In the race for the champoinship, Bobby Labonte now leads Dale Earnhardt by 249 points.

Mayfield Roars to Dover Pole
Jeremy Mayfield grabbed the top starting spot for the MBNA.com 400 at Dover Downs International. Mayfield turned in a qualifying lap of 22.518 mph, at an average speed of 159.872 mph, to take his third pole position of the 2000 season. Rick Mast will join Mayfield on the front row, starting second, while Johnny Benson and Rusty Wallace start third and fourth respectively.
