NAPA 500 - Atlanta Motor Speedway

 

Nadeau Wins First in Season's Final Race
In the season-ending NAPA 500 at Atlanta, Jerry Nadeau visited victory lane for the first time in his Winston Cup career. Nadeau held off Dale Earnhardt in a seven-lap shootout to win by 1.338 seconds. Nadeau becomes the fourth first-time winner of the 2000 season, his win comes in his 103rd start.

NAPA 500 Postponed
The NAPA 500 has been postponed due to rain. The race has been rescheduled for Monday, Novmber 20, at 10:15 am. The ARCA event, the Georgia Boot 400, will also be ran on Monday following the NAPA 500.

 

Gordon on Pole at Atlanta
Jeff Gordon will lead the field to the green flag for the final race of the 2000 season, winning the pole position for the NAPA 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Gordon toured the 1.54-mile track in 28.537 seconds, at an average speed of 194.274 mph, to take his third pole of the season. Teammate Jerry Nadeau will join Gordon on the front row, starting from the second spot, while Dale Jarrett and Dave Blaney round out the second row.
