Cracker Barrel Old Country Store 500 - Atlanta

Earnhardt Wins by a Nose at Atlanta
Dale Earnhardt claimed his ninth career win at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, edging Bobby Labonte to the finish line by only .009 seconds. After teammate Mike Skinner, who dominated the event for much of the day, blew an engine with 20 laps to go, Earnhardt was able to hold off the hard charging Labonte to take the checkered flag. With the win, Earnhardt moves from seventh in the point standings to third, Labonte continues to lead, followed by Mark Martin in second.
