Nadeau to Make 100th Start

Just Like It Was Yesterday

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (Oct. 20, 2000) -- This weekend's Pop Secret Microwave Popcorn 400 at North Carolina Speedway marks a milestone in Jerry Nadeau's racing career.

Nadeau, driver of the No. 25 MichaelHoligan.com Chevrolet, will make his 100th start in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series this Sunday. His first start was a little over three years ago at Michigan International Speedway. He qualified the Richard Jackson-owned No. 1 Pontiac in 32nd place and finished 36th in the June 15, 1997 race.

Since then, Nadeau has greatly improved his record with:
  • 11 top-five starts
  • 27 top-10 starts
  • Three top-five finishes
  • Six top-10 finishes
  • More than $4 million in winnings.

"It went by fast," Nadeau said. "I'm really surprised at how quickly it's gone by. Thinking about my 100th start doesn't affect how I approach this race, but it does make you realize how time flies when you're doing this." Is he still having fun?

"It's just like it was my first race," Nadeau said with a smile.
