Gordon's Life Under a Microscope

By: Andy Kondratick
Rogue Reporter
Summary - I'll be the first to admit I am not a Jeff Gordon fan but the fact that his financial worth is plastered on every news website is just plain wrong! Would you want the world to know your business?

Jeff Gordon
Jeff Gordon
December 20, 2002 - My father used to say that people’s business is his or her own and it should stay in the home. Actually, he used to say "My business is my business and I don't put it on the street. Got that right MAC?" (Middle finger pointed outward and poking the person in the chest.) I agree with that statement whole heartedly but in today's day and age that is a very difficult thing to do. Back in the day if your personal business got out for others to hear and see it was usually your own fault.

This past week, some paper in Divorce Court got filed about Jeff Gordon's net worth and how much money he makes in a month and so on and so forth. You have all heard the story by now I am sure and I refuse to write about such rubbish. The ink on the paper wasn’t even dry yet and we were reading about it. I will however write about the fact that I think it is wrong for this information to be released. Just because you are famous does not give everyone else a right to see your private and personal information and so-called journalists who think it's OK are idiots. Anyone of us is subject to the same treatment as Gordon but because he is a famous person they plaster all of the juicy details in their news columns for the world to see. You don’t hear about the Smith’s divorce details unless your hair is in rollers and your sitting under a drier at the local hair salon between two neighborhood gabbies.

People wake up! This is not news. It is Gordon's personal life. If it doesn't involve racing or anything involved in racing then let it be. I am not a huge Gordon fan by any means but what is right is right. I don’t need to know how much Jeff makes in a month. I don’t care how much it costs to keep his mansion looking top notch. I find it hard to believe that this is considered racing news. I also think that Brooke Gordon hasn’t got her head screwed on right either because she is allowing all of this to happen. Notice they have no income records for her plastered anywhere.

How would you like to come home after a hard day at work and see all of your income and assets listed on the front page of your local newspaper? The soon to be ungrateful ex-wife wants half and says you were a bad boy, she can’t take it anymore, and now she has hired a lawyer to help trash your good name and tells the whole world about it. I already know the answer so don’t bother e-mailing me about it. YOU WOULDN'T LIKE IT!! I know for sure none of the people who write about this kind of thing would either.

Jeff Gordon’s personal life is his so let him have it. He brings happiness and joy to his legions of fans around the world and no one can argue that. He is a stand-up guy and a future legend of my favorite sport NASCAR. He deserves more respect than that; he is a four-time Winston Cup Champion for Christmas sake. Treat him like you would want to be treated. We don’t care about his divorce. I said earlier that I wasn’t a big Jeff Gordon fan. Well, I am going to give him a chance to win me over in 2003. Now that Brooke is gone I feel like Gordon is refreshed. In other words she gave him back his boys. (If you know what I mean.) Now that Jeff and his “Boys” have been reunited I think of him as a man again and not the Brooke show puppet of old.

Hey Jeff, I am with you buddy! The goatee really works… go with it… trust me!
