Food City 250

 

Kenseth Wins First at Bristol
Matt Kenseth claimed his first ever win at Bristol Motor Speedway, holding off Michael Waltrip by .576 seconds to take the checkered flag. The win is the fourth of the season for Kenseth and the seventh in his career. Kenseth, who won for the first time on a short track, lead a dominating 169 of the event's 250 laps. With the win and by leading the most laps, Kenseth trimmed 20 points off of the point lead held by Dale Earnhardt Jr. Earnhardt now leads by 69 points over Kenseth in the chase for the BGN championship.

    Green Takes Food City 250 Pole
    Jeff Green was the last qualifier but will start first at the Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500 on Friday evening. Green went out last and knocked Shane Hall off of the pole position with a lap of 15.659 seconds, at 122.537 mph. Hall will start on the outside pole, while Matt Kenseth and Sterling Marlin make out row two.
