Millennium Motorsports, Inc. Merges with Bobby Hillin Racing (Richmond, VA) - At a press conference held today at the Richmond International Raceway Media Center, the principals of Millennium Motorsports, Inc. and Bobby Hillin Racing announced a formal merger between their two organizations that takes effect immediately. Bobby Hillin, Jr., principal driver and managing partner of the No. 8 Chevrolet Monte Carlo NASCAR Busch Grand National entry and Angelo S. Rotella, President and CEO of Millennium Motorsports made the announcement jointly. "This merger between our two organizations provides substantial benefits for both parties," stated Angelo S. Rotella. He continued, "Not only does it bring the ample resources of Millennium Motorsports, Inc. to assist Bobby Hillin's on-track racing effort but it also provides an entre' to NASCAR for Millennium Motorsports, Inc. This merger between Millennium and Bobby Hillin Racing is the first step towards our ultimate goal. We hope to grow Millennium Motorsports, Inc. into a major force not only in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series but in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series as well." Bobby Hillin, Jr., whose team is currently ranked 17th in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series points standings, added, "This unique opportunity allows me to focus more on my driving and less on the business side of this industry. I firmly believe that, with the integration of our two fine organizations, the number 8 Chevrolet Monte Carlo can become substantially more competitive week in and week out. We have a great crew, excellent facilities and the intense desire to lead at every track. Now, we have the business backing and management team to help put us consistently in the winners circle" John Macik, General Manager of Negotiations Plus Sports Management, who brokered the overall agreement and is under contract to Millennium Motorsports, Inc. stated, "Now that the team arrangements have been finalized, it is our responsibility to secure a full-time sponsor for the number 8 car. Our internal people and associated companies have been diligently working towards that end. It is our goal to not only secure a sponsor for the remainder of the 1999 season, but to also provide full sponsorship funding for the 2000 campaign. We are confident that we can provide a full menu of sponsorship opportunities to a company that has the desire to capitalize on the tremendous growth of NASCAR and the voracious appetite of the NASCAR fan." Since 1997, Bobby Hillin Racing has been an independent full-time entry in the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series. In 1998, Bobby Hillin, Jr. secured five top 10 finishes with a second place finish at Dover, DE. His best finish in 1999 was fifth at Daytona in the NAPA Auto Parts 300. He is most noted for his "Mac Attack" support of Mark MacGuire's quest for the single season home run record during the 1998 season.
