O’Reilly 300 - David Ragan Notes

David Ragan
Texas Motor Speedway, Fort Worth, TX
NASCAR Nationwide Series: O’Reilly 300
Saturday, April 5

David Ragan – NNS ADVANCE
Team: No. 6 Discount Tire Ford Fusion
Crew Chief: Mike Kelley
Chassis: RK-365 Practiced at Las Vegas, March ‘07, new body in ‘08

Ragan on racing in the Nationwide Series at Texas Motor Speedway:
“Our Discount Tire team must have a good weekend. We struggled a little bit in Nashville with our Ford Fusion, but I am sure we can right the ship in Texas. We sat on the pole here last spring and came close to winning the race. I am sure we can duplicate that performance if we qualify where we should and stay in the front of the pack. I know our guys are hungry for that first win, but we have to make sure we don’t start pressing the issue. The great finishes will come as long as we continue to execute our game plans from week to week.”

Crew Chief Mike Kelley on racing at Texas Motor Speedway:
“I am ready to get back on top of that pit box. We had a weekend off to recover from a rough race at Nashville. I am confident we have the strategy to do very well at Texas. We should have won here last fall, so we have some unfinished business to take care of. The key to running well at Texas is having good balance on your racecar. I know anything can happen on the track but I truly believe we are the team to beat this weekend. It may sound a little brash but I just feel like we have a great setup for this race track. If all the stars align it could be a memorable weekend.”
