Don’t Mess with Texas Duo
Coleman and Kimberly-Clark head to race in their home state
(Nashville, Tenn.) April 2, 2008 - When the No. 27 COTTONELLE Ford Fusion pulls into Dallas this weekend for Saturday’s O’Reilly 300; it brings a strong local fan base with its Texas combo of Brad Coleman and Kimberly-Clark.
Coleman, a native Texan, and Kimberly-Clark, headquarters in Irving, TX, put together the powerful Texas two-step that will be followed by many fans looking to support their home state favorites.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Coleman is looking forward to returning home to the place where he’s had success on tracks all around the Lone Star state. Discovered as a young teenager at a local karting track in Houston, Coleman’s future as a driver took off. In 2007, Governor Rick Perry declared April 17, 2007 as “Brad Coleman Day” in Texas in recognition of the young driver’s accomplishments on and off the NASCAR circuit.
Coleman smiles when he talks about racing in Texas.
“It’s always good to come home, but it’s especially good when you get to run Texas Motor Speedway”, said Coleman. “Mr. Gossage and his team do a fantastic job of putting together a great race weekend and the track is awesome. It is incredibly fast and the crew and I will have to put a top-notch car on the track if we are going to compete with the big boys at this speedway.”
The other half of the Texas team is Kimberly-Clark, the longest, standing continuous primary sponsor running in the NASCAR Nationwide series. With the company’s national headquarters located only a stone’s throw away from the track in Irving, many K-C employees plan to pack the stands supporting Coleman and the No. 27 COTTONELLE Ford Fusion. In addition to being the hometown sponsor, Kimberly-Clark also hopes to teach NASCAR fans a little something about how to Be Kind to your Behind with the Cottonelle® Lap 100 stretch, NASCAR’s version of baseball’s seventh inning stretch.
Texas fans are known to get loud, and now they will have two great reasons to do so this weekend as NASCAR rolls into Dallas.
