BRYAN CLAUSON IN THE No. 40 FASTENAL DODGE WAS THE TOP RAYBESTOS ROOKIE IN TONIGHT’S RACE.

Notes:

  • Clauson scored a 21st-place finish and took Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the first time since Daytona (race No. 1).
  • UNOFFICIALLY Dario Franchitti leads Clauson by 26 points (89-63) in the Raybestos Rookie standings.

CLAUSON: “Our Fastenal Dodge was really strong. We missed it a little there on the start and made a couple of adjustments on that first pit stop and we ran right with the 20 and 9 and 6 there all day. We were a top-five, top-10 car there, just let it get away on that first start and had that long run. We got stuck a lap down and chased that lucky dog and couldn’t come up with it. I’m really proud of all the guys. We had a really great weekend. Our finish doesn’t really reflect it but we really did have a strong weekend.” IT DOESN’T LOOK LIKE YOU PUT A SCRATCH ON THE CAR. YOU MUST HAVE HAD A CLEAN RACE TONIGHT. “I think we got a little ding on the bumper there the last couple of laps when the leaders got a little impatient there and just got turned around. But no harm no foul. We kept her off the wall and just lost a couple of spots there. All in all it was a good day for the Fastenal team. I’m really excited about going to Darlington next week and hopefully Dario gets well soon.” THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO ADD MORE RACES AND GET MORE SEAT TIME. “It was definitely a bad deal, Dario getting hurt there, but I’m more than happy to step in for him and just happy to have the opportunity to drive the Fastenal Dodge.”

LANDON CASSILL, No. 5 NATIONAL GUARD CHEVROLET: “We’ve just got to get our cars better, I think. They fell off real fast at the beginning. We got up in the top- 10 and it just started driving bad so we’ve got to work on it.” WHAT HAPPENED WHEN YOU SPUN OUT? “I got in the middle of the corner we were so bad in the middle of the corner and just got hit by David.”

BRIAN KESELOWSKI, No. 92 DODGE: “I haven’t been at the racetrack in a while and that hurts. I’ve got to get back in racing form [smiles]. I finished pretty good with this car last year. I was very happy with it. I didn’t get to test and just worked hard on this car. Everything came out of my own pocket. We didn’t get a chance to prepare for this race but we tried our hardest. We have about four guys and they’re all volunteers. We’re just here trying to race and drum up some sponsorship and we’d love to keep coming. Hey, it’s in one piece. We can go home and put it back together and go to another one. I’ve got a partner, Dusty Whitney. He owns some collision shops in Ann Arbor and he’s been helping me out for the last three or four years. He owns the shop that we’re working out and I really appreciate his help. The paint the cars and they always look good and they do a really good job. We’ve got some sponsorships that are interested. We’re trying and doing the best we can.” WHAT IS YOUR NEXT RACE? “Hopefully Nashville at least. I’d love to run Nashville, Kentucky and Milwaukee. Those are all racetracks I’ve been to. All year I’ve gone to racetracks that I’ve never been to. It’s been tough.”
