D.J. Kennington
Richmond International Raceway Advance Notes
From D.J. Kennington, Driver of No. 81 the Vector Security/ MC2 Energy Drink Dodge appearing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
"At MacDonald Motorsports we have a great car ready for the Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond, Virginia. This is expected to be one of the most exciting races of the 2008 season - its a night-time race this Friday on a .75 mile short-track" says D.J. Kennington. He continues, "We were racing in the 5th to 7th position at Talladega, Alabama last week, and had it not been for a blown tire towards the end of the race we were likely to have finished in the top 10. At speeds over 195 MPH even with a restrictor plate, we attracted a great deal of attention. In addition, we finished in the 25th position in the MC2 Energy Drink Dodge at the Corona Mexico 200 at Mexico City and we were one of the faster qualifying cars at Talladega, so things are really turning around for us!"
"Even though I have alot of experience driving on short-tracks in Canada, and have won quite a few races in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, I believe that the Lipton Tea 250 race will be extremely challenging and competitive. You've got Clint Bowyer driving the No. 2 BB&T Chevy who is the defending champion here and Kyle Busch driving the no. 32 Haas Avocadoes Mexico Toyota who is on a terror in recent races. David Stemme impressed many fans and racing teams with is strong performance last week in the Talladega driving the no. 64 Atreus Homes and Community Chevy." says D.J. Kennington, "but I think we should be really strong as well."
