Franchitti scored a 24th-place finish in today’s race and took Raybestos Rookie of the Race honors for the first time in two Nationwide Series starts.
UNOFFICIALLY Bryan Clauson has a four-point lead on Franchitti (25-21) in the Raybestos Rookie standings in the Nationwide Series.
Brian Keselowski (33rd) made his first start of the 2008 season in today’s race. He was credited with a 33rd-place finish after he was sideline by engine failure.
FRANCHITTI: “We had a great car today, and I felt more comfortable out there today than I've felt in any of my other Nationwide starts. The guys really set the car up to my liking. We caught a break under caution and thought we'd sneak out a top 5 or a top 10, but I felt a real bad vibration so we came in for four tires. Overall a good day and it felt great to drive a car that well prepared.”
BRYAN CLAUSON, No. 41 ENERGIZER DODGE: “We started off really loose. We may have adjusted a little too much after practice and the track got a little hot. So we were a little free to start. But we worked on the Energizer Dodge there during the first couple of pit stops and it was kind of coming back to us. We got it better and were just trying to work our way to the front, and then the rear tire got cut. It turned around on me. I thought I caught it but then the nosed it into the wall. I really wanted to have a good run today so this one is very disappointing for me and the guys.”
