Coleman’s Day Snared by Early Race Incident
Driver comes back to bring home top-25 finish
While Coleman and the No. 27 crew did their best to show their appreciation, an early incident beyond his control left the team in a position where they would be battling back all night long.
Starting in the 18th position, Coleman moved up three spots early. However, on lap 17, the No. 2 car of Clint Bowyer got into the side of Mike Wallace in the No.7 car. Wallace, unable to hang on to the car, pushed into the side of Coleman, spinning him out and leaving damage to the front left side of the car. Solid teamwork from the Baker-Curb pit crew put Coleman back onto the track in time to gain a 25th place finish on the night.
“After that early incident it was hard to get the car back to where we wanted it,” said Coleman. “The crew did what they could, but it just never got back to where we needed to be competitive. Overall though, I just want to say thanks for Kimberly-Clark for the great weekend and for sponsoring this No. 27 Scott Bath Tissue Ford Fusion.”
Coleman and the No. 27 crew will be back in action this Saturday in Loudon, New Hampshire.
