DOVER, Del. (June 2, 2008) — Kevin Harvick and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) RoadLoans.com Chevrolet team started the Heluva Good! 200 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway from the 13th position and looked poised for a top-five finish before a flat-tire caused an unscheduled pit stop, forcing the team to settle for a 17th-place finish.

“We had a good car tonight,” said Harvick. “The guys worked hard and did a great job this weekend. The car was a little tight to start, but we made some adjustments and kept getting better. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything about a flat tire. This was a good night for our RoadLoans.com Chevrolet. We’ll take it and move on to next week.”

Arriving at the track Saturday morning, the big concern was not the start of the race, but the weather threatening the area. Teams were able to qualify, but as they prepared for the green flag, the rain began and settled in for several hours. Once the rain stopped, NASCAR immediately had jet dryers on the track and were able to get the Heluva Good! 200 underway around 6:00 p.m., three hours after its scheduled start.

Taking the green flag from the 13th position, Harvick wasted no time moving to the front, taking over 10th on lap 16. Harvick radioed crew chief Wally Rogers on lap 19 while under caution that the car was a little tight. With the team making adjustments, Harvick continued to march forward, moving into fifth on lap 31.

Unfortunately, while in the fourth position on lap 148, the right front tire went flat coming off turn four. Harvick was able to drive the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet to pit road without causing damage, losing two laps to the leaders. Returning to the race on lap 150, Harvick was scored 23rd.

Continuing to run fast laps compared to the leaders, Harvick was in position on lap 168 to receive the lucky dog, gaining one of his two laps back. With 32 laps remaining in the race, Harvick was able to move from the 19th position to 17th, one lap down, to take the checkered flag.

Cale Gale will take over the driver’s seat of the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet for the next three Nationwide Series events, starting next week at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway.
