Charlotte, N.C. (May 26, 2008) — Kevin Harvick and the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Camping World Chevrolet battled hard Saturday night at Lowe’s (N.C.) Motor Speedway to move from the 41st starting position to cross the finish line 19th.

Taking to the track seventh for qualifying, the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet hit the wall before completing one qualifying lap. The crew quickly unloaded the back-up car and prepared it for the race. The No. 33 team had to rely on owner’s points for a starting position and secured the 41st spot.

“We struggled from the start with this car,” said Harvick as he examined the damage to the No. 33 primary car. “We’ll unload the back up and prepare it for the race. Hopefully, we can make something happen tonight.”

Taking the green flag, Harvick quickly began his move to the front sliding into 30th on lap four when the first caution flag of the day waved. Harvick radioed to crew chief Wally Rogers that the car was “too tight all the way through.” Instead of pitting, the team decided to stay out and see if track position would help. Harvick moved into the 25th spot on lap nine, but still struggled with the handling of the car.

Continuing to move forward, Harvick entered the top-20 on lap 30. The team lingered between the 20th and 25th positions for most of the night, unable to get the car to handle on the 1.5-mile track.

Staying out of trouble and driving hard, Harvick was able to cap the night off with a 19th-place finish.
