Realtree to Sponsor RCR’s No. 21 Nationwide Team at DIS

Bobby Labonte to Make 2008 Debut with RCR Program

WELCOME, N.C. (Feb. 12, 2008) -- Realtree, the home of America’s most versatile camo patterns and a long-time associate sponsor of Richard Childress Racing (RCR), will sponsor Bobby Labonte and RCR’s No. 21 NASCAR Nationwide Series Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS in the Feb. 16 Camping World 300 presented by Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Realtree, located in Columbus, Ga., is currently an associate sponsor of RCR’s No. 29 Shell-Pennzoil Chevrolet Impala SS driven by Kevin Harvick in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The RCR relationship dates back 11 years when it was an associate sponsor of the black No. 3 GM Goodwrench Chevrolets driven by the legendary Dale Earnhardt.

“Richard Childress, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and I have been friends for more than 20 years and Richard and I continue to hunt several times a year sharing our passion for the outdoors,” Jordan said. “The 21 car is a championship-caliber car and we felt it would be a great opportunity to sponsor RCR and Bobby Labonte, who is also an avid outdoorsman.

"We have two Realtree partners, Evolved Habitats and Bad Boy Buggies, coming on board the 21 car. Evolved, out of Louisiana, is a leader in wildlife seeds, supplements and attractants, and Bad Boy Buggies, out of Mississippi, manufactures one of the best all-electric 4x4 hunting vehicles."

Labonte has been tapped to compete in 15 Nationwide Series races this season in RCR’s No. 21 Chevrolet and Stephen Leicht will compete in at least two others. The No. 21 team has won 23 races and earned two Nationwide Series championships in the past five seasons, including the 2006 driver’s championship with Harvick and the 2003 owner’s-only championship with Harvick and Johnny Sauter sharing the driving duties. The 2003 championship was the first time in NASCAR history that the driver and owner championships were won by different teams.

“We appreciate Bill Jordan and everyone at Realtree for sponsoring Bobby Labonte and the No. 21 Chevrolet team this weekend in Daytona,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of Richard Childress Racing. “Bill’s been a great business partner and a great friend for decades now so it’s an honor to carry the Realtree logos in the first NASCAR Nationwide Series race of the season. The search continues for sponsorship for the balance of the races we’ve signed Bobby and Stephen Leicht to drive the No. 21 and, even at this late date, I’m confident we’ll find something for this championship-winning team.”
