Scott Pruett
Watkins Glen Advance Notes

Race: Zippo 200 on Saturday, August 11, 2007
Track: Watkins Glen International (2.45-mile road course)
Location: Watkins Glen, N.Y.

Scott Pruett and the No. 41 Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit Dodge Team Facts:

  • Double-Duty Weekend: Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) Grand American Rolex Sports Car driver Scott Pruett will compete in both the Rolex Series and NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) races this weekend at Watkins Glen International. Pruett will race the No. 41 Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit Dodge in Saturday’s Zippo 200. Pruett last raced the Juicy Fruit car this past weekend in Montreal (started seventh, finished 14th) and earlier in the season at Mexico City, where he sat on the pole and then finished fifth.

  • Pruett at The Glen: Pruett has some impressive stock car stats at Watkins Glen. In three Busch starts he has tallied one pole, one outside pole and two top-10 finishes. On the Cup side, he has recorded five starts that include two top-five finishes (which includes a second-place finish in 2003 to Robby Gordon) and four top-10 finishes. His worst finish in Cup competition at The Glen is 11th place (that was his first run in a Cup car at the road course in 2001).

  • Meet Scott Pruett: This season marks Pruett’s fourth year of racing in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series for CGRFS. The two-time Rolex Series Champion (2004, 2006) has competed in almost every form of motorsports. Throughout his driving career, the 47-year-old California native has tallied nine major championships and multiple Daytona Prototype records for wins (14), poles (9) and podiums (30). The 2007 Rolex 24 At Daytona Champion recently became the all-time winningest driver in Rolex Series history with his second win of the season at Iowa.

  • Chassis: Crew Chief Brad Parrott has selected chassis #559 to race at Watkins Glen this weekend. The chassis was just run last weekend in Montreal by Pruett who led nine laps for the Juicy Fruit team. Prior to Montreal, the chassis was entered as the No. 42 Texaco/Havoline Dodge in Mexico City carrying Montoya and team to their first victory lane celebration of the 2007 season.

  • Standings Update: The CGRFS Juicy Fruit Dodge is currently ranked 16th in the NBS owner points standings. That leaves the No. 41 car just 145 points outside of the top 10.

  • Clauson Returns to ARCA: CGRFS development driver Bryan Clauson is scheduled to run in this weekend’s ARCA/REMAX race at Nashville Superspeedway Saturday, August 11. It will mark the 18-year-old racer’s fourth ARCA start of the 2007 season. He scored a top-five start and finish at USA International Speedway in Lakeland, Fla., in March; a fifth-place finish (started 11th) at Iowa Speedway in early June; and a 14th-place finish (started 11th) at Kentucky Speedway in July. The race is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on SPEED (TV).

  • When to Watch: The Zippo 200 is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday, August 11, and will broadcast live on ESPN2, MRN radio and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128. Qualifying for the 82-lap competition is scheduled to start at 11:35 a.m. ET Saturday and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
