QUOTES
Driver Aric Almirola on running Talladega…
“I am really looking forward to climbing into the Rockwell Automation Chevrolet this weekend. Dave (Rogers) and the guys do a great job preparing a car for the race weekend. I ran my first Busch restrictor plate race this season at Daytona and felt like I did a decent job. I kept my nose clean and hopefully made some friends out there that will work with me in this race. I have been reminding myself all week to practice patience. You have to have the mindset where you are willing to give and take especially early in the race. I just have to get to the final 20 laps and then race the guys from there..”

Crew Chief Dave Rogers on racing at Talladega….
“Most of the work on these cars is all done at the shop. NASCAR rules are so tight at restrictor plate tracks that the crews are limited on what they can & can’t do. We expect to unload fast, because if we don’t there is not a ton that we can do to the car to pick up speed. This car was decent at Daytona and handling is not as important at Talladega. JGR makes some of the best horsepower in the garage. Our teammate (18 car) has won the last 4 poles are restrictor plate tracks so we have tried to pull some stuff from their setup sheets for our car. I thought Aric ran an extremely smart race at Daytona and look for him to do well this weekend.”

NOTES
Did you know … This will be Aric Almirola’s third race in the #20 Rockwell Automation Chevrolet. Almirola is also expected to compete in eight more races in this car at Nashville, Kentucky, Daytona, Gateway, ORP, Montreal, Bristol & Memphis. He is also making seven starts in the #18 Busch car with his most recent last week at Phoenix.

Car History … This week the #20 team is bringing car #2053. This car was originally built for superspeedways in 2005 but did not race its first race until 2006. Last year, this car ran both Daytona races where Denny Hamlin qualified this car 3 rd for the July race last year. Hamlin also drove this car to 9 th place finish in the season opening race at Daytona. Since then, this car has been rebuilt due to some aerodynamic concerns.
