LEFFLER AND THE GREAT CLIPS TEAM READY TO BATTLE IT OUT IN THE O’REILLY CHALLENGE AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY

  • 2 Poles for Leffler at Texas - In his first career NASCAR start at Texas Motor Speedway in 2000, Leffler won the Busch Pole award for the Busch Series event. Two years later, Leffler captured the pole in his first Craftsman Truck Series race at TMS.
  • Leffler’s NBS Texas Highlights - Leffler has to date a total of six NBS starts at Texas with one pole (2000), two top-10 finishes (6th in 2004 and 8th in 2005) and four top-20 finishes. In the season’s first stop at TMS, Leffler finished 13th after starting 24th.
  • Leffler to pull double-duty at Texas – In addition to his regular NBS duties for Braun Racing, Leffler will drive the No. 1 Red Horse Racing entry in the Craftsman Truck Series race on Friday night. In three NCTS starts at Texas Motor Speedway, Leffler has one pole (2002) and one top-10 finish (8th in 2002). He has never started outside of the top-10 in NCTS competition at Texas.
  • Current Point Standings – After a fifth place finish last weekend in Memphis, Leffler moved to third in the NASCAR Busch Series driver point standings.

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION - The Great Clips team will unload chassis # 35 for this weekend’s event. This is the same chassis Leffler drove recently in Kansas (21st) and Charlotte (19th).

    LEFFLER ON TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY:
“Texas is an awesome track - fast and slick with a wide racing surface. In the beginning stages of the race, you’ll see most cars riding along the bottom but as the tires wear out the second and third grooves will start coming in as drivers begin to move up the track to find more grip. These mile and a half tracks have been difficult for us to get a handle on this year but we have been improving every week and seem to have gotten things turned in the right direction. I think that having the opportunity to run the truck race will be an extra advantage for us as well. The entire Great Clips team looks forward to seeing how we can stack up against the competition this weekend.”
