WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE O’REILLY 300 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY, APRIL 14, 2007.
Mike Wallace led once for one lap to earn WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s O’Reilly 300. Wallace captured the award for the third time in eight races this season. He was the only Busch Series regular to lead a lap in the race. Wallace had led at least one lap in five races this season.
Wallace scored a 15th-place finish on the lead lap in the O’Reilly 300.
UNOFFICIALLY Wallace is ninth in the Busch Series championship standings, five points behind eighth-place Raybestos Rookie Marcos Ambrose. Wallace leads 10th-place David Ragan by 17.
Wallace holds a one-race lead over Jason Leffler (3-2) in the WIX Filters Lap Leader standings.
WALLACE QUOTES: “We ran better than we have in a long time. We ended up getting a fender bent late in the race there and I should have come to pit road. We gambled out and we shouldn’t have. We appreciate WIX Filters’ participation and getting the lap leader award. We got a top-15 finish, was looking for a top-10, but we can go from there.”
