BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 23 OKLAHOMA CENTENNIAL CHEVROLET: “I just broke a motor on the third or fourth lap. I’m not sure why. I didn’t over-rev it or overheat it. Something just broke inside. It’s pretty disappointing because I thought we were going to have something strong to race with. We’ll have to go get ‘em at Phoenix.” DID THE COOL WEATHER THROW YOU A CURVE TODAY? “It certainly didn’t help. I don’t think that hurt our engine tune up. I’m not sure what happened there. We’ll have to look into it further and see.”

DAVID RAGAN IN THE No. 6 DISCOUNT TIRE FORD WAS THE RAYBESTOS ROOKIE OF THE RACE AT TEXAS.

DAVID RAGAN, No. 6 DISCOUNT TIRE FORD: “This is probably our best run as a team. You always want to run a little better than you did but what a great rebound from last week. Last week we probably had the best car that we’ve had all year. Everyone on the Discount Tire Ford Fusion team have worked extremely hard getting another car prepared. It was a fun race. Matt Kenseth is an unbelievable driver. He showed us what it’s all about today. But it was a good run for everybody at Roush Fenway Racing and a solid points day.” IS THIS YOUR BEST RUN? “Yeah, other than some truck races when we were real dominate. Certainly to run in the top-10 for the majority of the day, we had good pit stops and there at the end I thought we might could have been about a fourth or fifth-place car but I know some good cars behind us, Mark and the 5 car, they were coming. It’s a solid run and we’ll build on this and we definitely want to win some. We won’t always be satisfied with fifth but for today we will be.” YOU WON A POLE AND SCORED A TOP-FIVE FINISH. IS THAT ABOUT AS GOOD OF A WEEKEND AS YOU CAN HOPE FOR? “Just about as good. For a Raybestos Rookie team we had a real strong run. We’re very happy just to pick up some points from last week. We really felt like we had a top-10 car last week and it got out of our grasps there about middle part of the race. A top-five in any top division in NASCAR is an awesome run.” HOW MUCH CAN YOU LEARN FROM WORKING WITH TEAMMATES LIKE KENSETH AND EDWARDS? “You can watch their line and watch what they do but you want ‘em to cut you a little slack, but man, they raced me just as hard as they do anybody [smiles]. But man, they are so professional and they are such great drivers. It’s just cool to be part of the team. We’re happy for the Discount Tire team. They’ve worked extremely hard. We had a tough week last week. We just wanted to rebound and pick up some points. We want to win and we’re going to win some this year but we’ve got to take some small steps. We can’t let anything crazy happen. We had a strong run and hopefully it will help a little bit for tomorrow but we’ll take a top-five. About another six months from now we’ll be mad if we finish fifth.”

MIKE KELLEY, CREW CHIEF, No. 6 DISCOUNT TIRE FORD: YOU RAN WELL ALL DAY TODAY. “That’s what we needed to do. After qualifying on the pole you always get nervous that maybe your race setup is way too tight. It concerned me the first run, actually. We tightened up quite a bit. We switched up some of the air pressures. I was really glad to see that he got to start behind all those guys and show ‘em David Ragan can run with these guys on a week in and week out basis. The team’s got to get better, the cars will get better and David will get some experience and that’s what we need to do on days like today.” THIS IS YOUR BEST FINISH AS A CREW CHIEF IN THE BUSCH SERIES. “Yeah, it’s my best finish as a Busch crew chief. It’s been a long time coming to get a top-five. We’ve had a lot of good days where we should have had a top-fives and something went bad. Today I just kept waiting for the sun to fall down on top of this racecar and knock the hood off it or something. Everything ended up the way it should.”

MARCOS AMBROSE, No. 59 KINGSFORD/BUSH’S FORD: “I had a dead front shock or something like that and that’s what kept us dropping to the back. We were running okay but behind traffic there, if a car came across and got the side of you, you lost the whole nose and that’s really what happened. I feel bad for Juan. I wasn’t trying to take him out. We were just trying to finish the race. We were just trying to make the end. I hate running this bad. I just feel bad for everybody because we’re all trying so hard. I feel a bit disappointed because we had moments of a good handling car but in general we just had a tough time.” there

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA, No. 42 TEXACO/HAVOLINE DODGE: YOU WERE LEADING THE RACE AND THEN WHAT HAPPENED? “Screw up on one of the pit stops. One of the lug nuts came off so they brought us back in. That was that.” IT LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE DRIVING HARD TRYING TO GET BACK TO THE FRONT. “The 37, I went to the outside of him. I think he went to the middle of the racetrack and it just pushed me up a little bit. It was just too loose.”

BRAD COLEMAN, No. 18 CARINO’S ITALIAN GRILL CHEVROLET: “We had a great car. We struggled on those restarts, the way the air flows over the cars and this is my first race at Texas. And those Cup drivers…being in the middle three-wide, I was just wanting to make it though there because once we got going and once the tires got the air pressure up our car was fast. We almost got a top-15 there at the end. I was inside the 7 but just couldn’t do it. I had a great time today. It was a blast.” YOU RAN CLOSE TO THE TOP-10 FOR MUCH OF THE RACE. “I thought we were going to get a top-10 and some guys up front pitted and they came flying to the front. I’m very happy with his finish.” YOU GOT 300 MILES OF EXPERIENCE HERE TODAY. “We did every single lap, which is unbelievable. The first run of the race I almost went a lap down. The leader was on my bumper and then we started pulling away from him. I’m glad we stayed on the lead lap.”

JUSTIN DIERCKS, No. 70 FORETRAVEL/BIOMET CHEVROLET: “I stayed out of trouble, ran all the laps. It’s another 24th-place finish [smiles]. Things are getting better. We’ve just got to keep working. I’m real happy with how our finish was especially with all the Cup guys here. The first time I came here I didn’t make the race so basically this is my first race here. I dodged a bunch of wrecks that we easily could have been in so yeah, I’m real happy with how we finished. We stayed out of trouble and made sure that we logged laps and made the car better except for the last stop. The last stop we went the wrong way and made it a little bit worse. All in all, I was real happy with how the day went.”

KYLE KRISILOFF, No. 14 CLABBER GIRL FORD: “We didn’t get much practice. We had some problems. I thought we had a pretty decent car but it was just way too tight. I think we can attribute that to not running enough laps in practice and really getting a handle on the car. This is the car that we had to run at Phoenix so I kind of drove the whole day with that in mind. If we would have wrecked this we really would have been in trouble. It was all right. We finished and we can take this car to Phoenix. I think we learned some stuff that hopefully we can build on for places like Charlotte. We finally got our car, attitude-wise, kind of where we wanted to. But we may have been a little too aggressive and we actually started to unload the front tires, a little bit too much rebound. It’s something that we’re learning and I think we’re gaining on it each week. I thought we’d be a little bit better than we were today but at least the car is in one piece and we’ll go on to Phoenix.”
