O’Reilly 300 - Kevin Harvick Notes

Kevin Harvick
No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
Team Report
NASCAR Busch Series Race 8 of 35—Texas Motor Speedway

LAST WEEK: Cale Gale drove his Camping World Chevrolet to a 27th-place finish after engine problems arose in the Pepsi 300 at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway. The misfortune caused Gale to park the No. 33 Monte Carlo SS behind the wall with 21 laps remaining.

SOLID RECORD AT TMS: Kevin Harvick has six career NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) starts at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Of those six starts, he has compiled all top-10 finishes including three wins (2006, 2005, 2001).

172 AND COUNTING: Harvick will be making his 172nd start this weekend in the NASCAR Busch Series. Harvick made his NASCAR Busch Series debut in 1999 at Rockingham (N.C) Motor Speedway.

MR. CONSISTENCY: During his NASCAR Busch Series career, Harvick has compiled 126 top-10 finishes to go along with 27 wins. Harvick’s average starting position is ninth and his average finish is eighth over an eight-year NASCAR Busch Series career.

LEADER OF THE PACK: Kevin Harvick has led 404 of 1,122 laps (36 percent) at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). The last time Harvick strapped into a Busch car at TMS he led a track record 145 of the scheduled 200 laps on the way to his ninth victory of the season.

HARVICK PULLING DOUBLE-DUTY: Kevin Harvick will pull double-duty for the seventh time this season. Harvick will compete in the O’Reilly’s 300 Busch Series event on Saturday and the Samsung 500 Cup Series race on Sunday. Harvick’s most recent double-duty weekend took place two weeks ago at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway where he competed in the NASCAR Truck and Cup Series races.

23 AND COUNTING: Kevin Harvick will be looking for his 24th straight top-10 finish in the NASCAR Busch Series, a streak that dates back to the Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway race in June 2006.

THIS RACE, ONE YEAR AGO: Kevin Harvick drove the No. 33 Dollar General stores Chevrolet to an eighth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway in the O’Reilly 300 Busch Series race. Harvick started 21st on the grid, but quickly jumped into the top-15 by the third lap. He eventually took the lead by lap 46. However, a broken window brace derailed Harvick’s bid for another Busch Series victory, and the No. 33 team settled for a solid top-10 finish.

OPERATION WAX SMOKE: KHI Busch Series driver Tony Stewart said that if someone would make a $100,000 donation to the Victory Junction Gang Camp (VJGC), he would wax his chest and back. “I thought it was a hilarious way to raise money for an excellent cause. I am calling on my fans (and Tony's too!) to make a donation in an effort to raise $100,000 for the Victory Junction Gang Camp,” said Kevin Harvick. “Plus, it’s a way to have a good laugh at Tony's expense.” For more information please visit our website, www.kevinharvick.com, to find out how you can be a part of "Operation: Wax Smoke"!

Kevin Harvick Quotes:
ON TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: "Texas is a fast racetrack. Besides Dover (Del.), it's possibly the biggest sensation of speed other than a qualifying lap at Atlanta (Ga.). The support that the fans give in Texas is outstanding. They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that's pretty much true when it comes to the crowd, purse and everything like that. It's a very nice facility and we enjoy going there."

ON THE COMFORT LEVEL ON THE MILE-AND-A-HALF TRACKS: “I think for us as a team, the mile-and-a-half tracks have been good to us so far this year. I look forward to driving the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway, which is where the headquarters of RoadLoans.com is located.”

Dan Stillman Quotes:
TALK ABOUT THE SEASON SO FAR: The season has been good so far after seven races. If you take out the two engine failures and the unfortunate incident in Atlanta we would be right there, but it is what it is and we move forward. We are sitting in sixth right now in the NASCAR Busch Series Owner point standings heading into Texas. Having Kevin Harvick behind the wheel at a track where he has won three times can only help.”
