QUOTES
Driver Denny Hamlin on returning to his Busch Car this weekend at Texas…
“I am really looking forward to climbing back into my Rockwell Automation Chevrolet this weekend. After making every start in that car the last two years, it was awkward going to the motorhome after final Cup practice in Atlanta and watching Busch race live on television. But after this past off weekend, I know that I made the right decision and this will help keep me fresh for all the races I am entered in this season.

Texas is a great track and I have had a good amount of success there in the past. It was a fast track and you really depend on the aerodynamics of your car and the horsepower from the engine. Cars have a tendency to get aero-tight here, so we will spend a lot of time trying to get it to turn off the corner.

Crew Chief Dave Rogers on Denny Hamlin returning to the seat….
“We have had a whirlwind of drivers in the our seat the last couple weeks, but having Denny back should be like old times. I have a good feel for what he is looking for in our intermediate setup. The crew has worked really hard on this car and I am excited to see what he is able to do in it on Thursday. Thursday should prove to be a long day at the track, but with Friday off, the crew will have plenty of time to recharge. We have stumbled a little bit in the first couple races, but we are about to start a series of tracks that we have a really good history at and should be able to show what this team is capable of.”

NOTES
Denny Hamlin at Texas… One of Denny Hamlin’s most successful tracks last season was Texas Motor Speedway. First in the April Busch Race, he claimed his first Busch Pole award of his career with a lap of 187.91 mph. Hamlin also scored top-ten finishes in both Busch races and both Cup races. His average start for 2006 at Texas Motor Speedway was 8.0 and his average finish for 2006 was 8.0.

Car History… This week the #20 team is bringing car #2073. This car is a brand new car built for intermediate tracks and has only run one race this season. Tony Stewart drove this car in the Nicorette 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway early this year. Stewart qualified the car 4th and finished 10th.
