Emerson Radio 250 - Toyota Post-Race Quotes
Brian Vickers, driving the No. 10 Fan1st.com Camry for Braun Racing, earned his fourth consecutive top-
10 finish tonight taking the checkered flag sixth.
Jason Leffler battled near the top-10 during tonight's race, but finished 11th in his No. 38 Great Clips
Camry after losing brakes late in the race.
The No. 03 Germain Camry of Todd Bodine finished 20th in only his fourth NASCAR Busch Series
appearance of the season.
David Reutimann started 17th in his No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine Camry and finished 23rd after battling
handling problems throughout the race.
Five Camry drivers have notched a total of 324 laps led across 12 races. Leffler (Daytona, Nashville,
Darlington, Indianapolis and Bristol) has led a total of 141 laps. Reutimann (Nashville, Talladega, St. Louis
and Bristol) has led 93 laps. Vickers has led 56 laps (Michigan and California) while Dave Blaney
(California, Atlanta and Nashville) has led 19 laps. Todd Bodine (St. Louis) has led 15 laps.
The Camry now has 13 top-five and 31 top-10 finishes in NBS competition.
Toyota has scored three poles in Busch Series competition including Leffler at Daytona (July) and Bristol
(August) as well as Blaney at California (February).
BRIAN VICKERS, No. 10 Fan1st.com Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
Finished: 6th
How was your race tonight?
"We weren't too bad tonight -- we were able to get a top-10 finish, but we could have been better. The tires
really got us there at the end. I think we could have had a top-five, but our pit stops really hurt us the most.
Trent Owens (crew chief) did a good job getting the car better all night long with all the pit stops -- we just got
killed on the pit stops. Every time we would get some good track position, we would lose it in the pits. It
happens sometimes -- everybody makes mistakes, but that's really what hurt us tonight."
What were you able to learn about the track tonight that will be beneficial in tomorrow night's race?
"The track definitely got wider during the race tonight and I learned about some changes that we might be able
to try tomorrow night as the race progresses. I think you still want to get your car working on the bottom of the
track -- that will be important. You really have to be loose early in the race in order for your car to be there at
the end. Tonight was a good night for Braun Racing and we were able to get a solid finish and take away some
good ideas for tomorrow night."
JASON LEFFLER, No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry, Braun Racing
Finished: 11th
How was your race tonight?
"We just struggled with the handling all night -- we kept trying to make adjustments, but couldn't get any better from the
center of the corner to the middle of the straight-away. There toward the end we lost the brakes and that is probably what
cost us a top-10 finish tonight. I'm disappointed because we really thought we had a car capable of a top-five or at least a
top-10 finish."
TODD BODINE, No. 03 Germain Toyota Camry, Germain Racing
Finished: 20th
DAVID REUTIMANN, No. 99 Aaron's Dream Machine Toyota Camry, Michael Waltrip Racing
Finished: 23rd
How was your race tonight?
"We just struggled right from the beginning today. I had a cut left-front tire early in the race and had to come down pit
road -- that cost us track position and that's ultimately what we had to battle all night. We had a fast car and I think we
were able to make a lot of changes to the car, but we could never make up the track position that we lost early on. It's real
disappointing because I know we had a car that was a lot better than where we finished."
