Team Report
NASCAR Busch Series Race 28 of 35 --- Richmond (Va.) International Raceway
CAMPING WORLD 300 RECAP: Kevin Harvick was once again behind the wheel of the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) RoadLoans.com Chevrolet Monte Carlo Saturday night for the Camping World 300 at California Speedway. With another weekend of triple digit temperatures, the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet began the race in the 12th position. Harvick struggled most of the race with the handling of the car. The team made drastic changes throughout the night, changing air pressures and making track bar adjustments. After 150 laps equaling 300 miles, Harvick was able to bring the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet home with a solid seventh-place finish.
BUILDING STATISTICS: In 13 NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) starts at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway, Harvick has compiled an incredible record. To date, he has completed 3252 laps out of a possible 3256 laps. He has four wins, nine top-five and 10 top-10 finishes on the .750-mile track.
LOOKING FOR WIN NO. 5: Harvick will be looking for his fifth NBS win at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway Friday night when he takes to the track for the Emerson Radio 250. A win Friday night at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway will not only mark Harvick’s fifth win at the track, but it would mark his first win in a KHI Busch Series car.
DOUBLE DUTY: Harvick will once again be doing double duty in both the NBS and the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series (NNCS). On Friday night, he will compete in the Emerson 250 piloting the No. 33 RoadLoans.com Chevrolet looking for his fifth win in 14 starts at Richmond (Va.) International Speedway. On Saturday night, he will take to the track behind the wheel of the No. 29 Richard Childress Racing (RCR) Shell/Pennzoil Chevrolet and battle to secure a spot in the Chase for the Nextel Cup.
CHASSIS HISTORY: Chassis No. 34 was previously run this year during the Busch Series event at Kentucky Speedway with Cale Gale behind the wheel. This chassis started the race in the eighth position, and ended the night with a 13th-place finish.
137,825 REASONS TO CHEER: Harvick returned home to Bakersfield, Calif., Thursday prior to the events at California Speedway to attend “A Night with Kevin Harvick,” a fund raiser at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace. The inaugural event, which benefited the Kern County High School Racing Series, raised a total of $137,825. The night included a silent auction with items from Harvick and several of his fellow NASCAR drivers, dinner by the Crystal Palace, and a program featuring Harvick, Mayor Harvey Hall, and other distinguished guests. Earlier in the day Harvick took the time to check out the new race track in Bakersfield, and sign autographs for fans at a local Camping World Store.
