Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 - Jason Leffler Notes

JASON LEFFLER QUICK FACTS
No. 38 Great Clips Toyota Camry
Bashas’ Supermarkets 200
Phoenix International Raceway
Friday, April 20, 2007

  • 9 CAREER STARTS AT PHOENIX - Leffler has a total of nine career starts at Phoenix International Raceway, four (5) in the NASCAR Busch Series, three (3) in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series and one (1) in the Craftsman Truck Series.
  • LEFFLER SHOWS MUSCLE AT PHOENIX – NBS Highlights In five NBS starts at the one-mile track, Leffler has two poles (2000 and 2006), a 2nd place finish (2000), a 7th place finish (2005) and an 11th place finish (2003). One year ago at PIR, Leffler was a dominating force, leading for 78 laps before being taken out of contention for the win by another competitor.

LEFFLER ON PHOENIX INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY “We had a tremendous run at Phoenix last season and should have taken home the trophy but were taken out before we had the chance. Our goal this weekend is to repeat that performance, but this time, take the Great Clips Toyota Camry to Victory Lane. This is our kind of track and one that we excel at. We’re taking the same car that we ran at a majority of the flat, mile tracks last season with extremely good results. In all, we’ve won two poles and led 180 laps with this car, so we feel pretty good in coming back with the same equipment.”

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION: The Great Clips team will unload chassis #17 in this weekend’s Bashas’ Supermarkets 200. Converted into a Toyota Camry over the off-season, this is the same chassis Leffler drove in a majority of last season’s short track races including Phoenix and Richmond (spring) where he captured the Busch pole for both events, as well as Milwaukee where he started 9th and posted a season-best fourth place finish. Leffler has led a total of 180 laps while driving chassis #17, with 76 laps led in Phoenix, 66 laps led in Richmond and 38 laps led in Milwaukee.
