Texas Tornado
After surviving twisters on Friday, McClure started the O’Reilly 300 in the 34th position and was able to bring his No. 0 Hefty® Chevrolet home in the 29th place.
This marks the fourth top-30 finish of the season for the Hefty® Racing Team.
Racing in the Valley of the Sun
The 28-year-old driver will attempt his 23rd career NASCAR Busch Series event this weekend under the lights at the one mile raceway. The Emory and Henry College Graduate must qualify on time as he is not locked in the valued top-30 in owners’ standings.
McClure’s one previous start at PIR came in 2005(April) where he started 39th and finished 38th after suffering an engine failure.
Johnny Davis Motorsports has completed in four events at PIR with his best start of 16th and finish of 25th coming in April 2005.

Personal Appearances
Prior to the command to start the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200, the Virginia native will make an appearance at the Phoenix Raceway Club at 1:00pm.
Eric McClure, driver of the No. 0 Hefty® Chevrolet quotes:
(On returning to PIR?)
“I’m looking forward to competing at Phoenix. It is a unique track with the layout it provides. It’s a lot tighter and smaller than it looks on TV, but it’s a neat place to race so hopefully the Hefty® brand Chevrolet is dialed in ready to go.”
(Are strategies different when competing at night rather than the day?)
“Not really. You approach the race a little differently since we practice and qualify during the day and then race at night. Your adjustments may differ a bit as well due to the track conditions. Hopefully, we can get the car comfortable and be more competitive throughout the entire race. Our finishes this season haven’t been anything to write home about, but we are starting to turn things around. This would be a good place to do it.”
