LEFFLER LOOKING TO GET HIS GROOVE BACK AT NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY

Will the curse come to an end in Nashville? It’s been a rough start to the season for Jason Leffler and the Great Clips team. From being touted as a championship contender prior to Daytona to currently sitting 23rd in the point standings after a fourth DNF in Bristol, the Great Clips team hopes to get things turned around this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. For Leffler, adding a second custom-designed Gibson guitar trophy to his display case would be a good way to start.

Leffler has a total of 6 NASCAR starts at Nashville Superspeedway - (4) in the Busch Series and (2) in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Leffler is no stranger to victory lane at Nashville Superspeedway. In June, 2004, Leffler scored his first career NBS win at Nashville Superspeedway after starting from the outside pole and leading for 61 laps.

In four NBS starts at Nashville, Leffler has two top-10 finishes and has started inside the top-8 twice.

LEFFLER ON NASHVILLE SUPERSPEEDWAY:
“Nashville Superspeedway is deceiving in that it looks a lot faster than it really is. The long front and backstretches carry you into tight corners where you have to slow it down. It’s nothing like the other concrete tracks where you carry a lot of speed into and out of the turns with barely any straightaways. There’s plenty of room for passing so there is a lot of good side-by-side racing which makes it a lot of fun to race.”

LEFFLER ON RETURNING TO THE SITE OF FIRST NBS WIN:
“My first NASCAR Busch Series win came at Nashville Superspeedway in 2004 so obviously I have good memories there. On the other hand, we suffered at Nashville last season in both races. Last year in the April race we were having a pretty good run when we had an engine failure mid-way through the race. Then we go back six weeks later for the June race and had another engine problem before we even got to take the green flag. To say the least, we feel like the track sort of owes us and we are going this weekend to collect.”

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The Great Clips team will unload chassis # 23 in this weekend’s Pepsi 300 at Nashville Superspeedway. Converted into a Toyota Camry over the off-season, this is the same chassis Leffler drove most recently at Las Vegas (37th - accident) and last season in Michigan (13th), California (24th) and Kansas (31st – accident).
