SCOTT WIMMER QUOTES:
What is the biggest challenge when getting around New Hampshire?
“New Hampshire is really a unique race track. The inside groove feels like it is banked the other way. Up off the inside groove there is a little more banking but it still feels really flat. The straightaways are really long and the corners are real tight so it is very important to have a car that handles well. It is a pretty tricky track to get around. Hopefully, we can go there and use a lot of notes that we got at Milwaukee last weekend because they are similar tracks.
The No. 29 is currently second in the owners’ points standing. What is your outlook at the half-way point of the season?
“The reason we are there is because of the way that Jeff (Burton) ran at the beginning of the year. The past three weeks, I have been able to do the same and run up front and get a lot of points. It also helps that the No. 60 car has had some bad luck the past two weeks. It is a lot of pressure because Burton will go out and run well every week so I feel like I need to go out and do the same when I am in the car. It would be great to get those owners’ points for Richard (Childress) and the whole team. If we keep running the way we are running we will be up front there in the next few weeks.”
