  • DOLLAR GENERAL SUPPORTS ST. JUDE: Nashville, Tenn.-based company, Dollar General has built a partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through the Thanks and Giving Campaign. Dollar General developed the relationship because of their commitment to ensuring that no child is ever turned down because of the inability to pay. To support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in its backyard of Memphis, Tenn., Dollar General is participating in the “Design a Dream” event. With the primary paint scheme remaining the same, a St. Jude patient by the name of Dalton, age eight, redesigned the hood of the No. 77 Dollar General stores Chevrolet. Fans can look for the bright red and yellow hood colored by Dalton on track at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park.
  • THANKS AND GIVING CAMPAIGN: Dollar General has developed a relationship with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through the Thanks and Giving Campaign. Throughout the entire year, Dollar General is involved in raising funds for the Memphis, Tenn.-based children’s hospital. In 2006, Dollar General store employees raised over $1 million for St. Jude during their Thanks and Giving Campaign. During the annual Corporate meeting this summer, the Dollar General employees challenged each other to raise $1.5 million for the 2007 campaign that runs in stores from November 16 to December 9.
  • COMING DOWN TO THE WIRE: With only four races remaining on the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series schedule, it’s every man…or should we say woman…for them self. Heading into race No. 32 of 35, Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) team co-owner, DeLana Harvick, currently sits 10th in the NASCAR Busch Series Owner’s Point Standings. The No. 77 has been driven by team co-owner Kevin Harvick, Bobby Labonte, Kertus Davis, Ron Hornaday and Scott Wimmer. Brandon Miller will make driver number six that has piloted the platinum and yellow Dollar General stores Chevrolet. The No. 77 isn’t the only Busch car that Mrs. Harvick owns that is within the top-10 in Owner’s Points. The No. 33 currently sits seventh in the chase for the Owner’s Championship.

BRANDON MILLER QUOTES: “I can’t thank Kevin and DeLana (Harvick) enough for this awesome opportunity to drive the No. 77 Dollar General stores Chevrolet in Memphis (Tenn.). I grew up racing on short tracks and I enjoy the fast pace line around Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park. It won’t be new to me since I’ve raced there in the Busch Series once before, so I won’t be starting out behind the eight ball.”
