This Week’s Race Car at The Milwaukee Mile … Scott Wimmer will pilot Chassis No. 070 from the Richard Childress Racing (RCR) stable this weekend. Jeff Burton drove this No. 29 Holiday Inn Chevrolet earlier this season at Phoenix International Raceway in April (started fourth, finished third) and at Richmond International Raceway in May (started fourth, finished third).

Hey Batter … Scott Wimmer will throw out the first pitch at Miller Park when the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Kansas City Royals on Friday, June 22. Wimmer is slated to throw the first pitch at 6:50 p.m. Central Daylight Time (CDT) and the game starts at 7:05 p.m. CDT. No. 29’s sponsor, Holiday Inn, is the Official Hotel of Major League Baseball. Throwing Him in the Deep End … RCR development driver Tim McCreadie will make his first NASCAR Busch Series start this weekend at The Milwaukee Mile behind the wheel of RCR’s No. 21 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. McCreadie, 33, of Watertown, N.Y. has only three career asphalt starts to his credit and finished fourth in his ARCA Series debut last weekend Michigan International Speedway. Prior to last Friday, McCreadie finished 11th in his NASCAR West Series debut in April at Phoenix International Raceway and followed that up with a 10th-place run on May 20 at Iowa Speedway. McCreadie is the 2006 Chili Bowl Midget Nationals winner and the defending World of Outlaws Late Model Series Champion.
RCR at Milwaukee … In 15 previous Busch Series starts at The Milwaukee Mile, RCR has posted one wins (Ron Hornaday, Jr., June 2003), two poles (Kevin Harvick, July 2001; and Johnny Sauter, June 2003), three top-five and five top-10 finishes. RCR cars have also led 287 laps.
Design the Holiday Inn Chevy … Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, the world's most recognized hotel brand, will rev-up race fans' creativity with the launch of its second annual online "Design A Car" contest. Through July 31 consumers can log on to http://www.holidayinn.com/designacar to design a new paint scheme for Richard Childress Racing's No. 29 Holiday Inn Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and submit their design for online voting by visitors to the site. Jeff Burton will then select the winning paint scheme from among the fans' favorites. The winning design will be featured on Burton's car during the NASCAR Busch Series finale in Homestead, Fla., on November 17. Winners of this year's "Design a Car" contest will also receive a trip for two to the race with V.I.P. treatment that includes a meeting with Burton.
Catch the Action … AT&T 250 at The Milwaukee Mile will be televised live on ESPN2 on Saturday, June 23 beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). The race will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and Sirius Satellite Radio. SCOTT WIMMER QUOTES:
You consider The Milwaukee Mile your home track. What would a win mean for you at Milwaukee?
“It would be really neat for me. I have been going to Milwaukee for as long as I can remember and watched my uncle race there along with Dick Trickle, Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin. You name someone in racing and I watched them race there and win. It is a place that I have gone my whole life and I will remember my whole life. It would be really neat to win a race there. I think that any Wisconsin driver, no matter what series, wants to win there. I am looking forward to having the opportunity with Pat Smith and the Holiday Inn Racing team. The way things have been going for us I think that we can make a strong run for it and hopefully get in position to win.”
What are your expectations for this weekend’s race?
“My expectations aren’t any different from any other week and that is to go out and win. Ultimately, I want a top-five finish and to qualify well. We are coming off of three top-fives. I have all the confidence in the world for my team. If we don’t unload well then I know that these guys will get the car right before the end of the race and we will be right up front contending for a win.”
