PREVIEW: KYLE BUSCH (NO. 5 DELPHI CHEVROLET)
VENUE: LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY (1.5-MILE TRI-OVAL)
CIRCUIT: NASCAR BUSCH SERIES (RACE FOUR OF 35)
EVENT: SATURDAY, MARCH 10, 2007 (200 LAPS, 300 MILES)
TURN LEFT, 2,275 FEET: Although NASCAR rules won't allow a navigational system in Kyle Busch's Chevrolet this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, his No. 5 Busch Series sponsor is well-equipped to outfit die-hard NASCAR Nation. In fact, Delphi's new NAV200 is perfect for fans who need a guide through post-race traffic. Saturday's event will mark the first of five races on the No. 5 Chevy for Delphi, a leading supplier of mobile electronics and transportation systems.
HOMETOWN BOY: Busch was raised in Las Vegas and attended nearby Durango High School, where he graduated one year early with honors. Prior to his graduation at the age of 17, Busch had already posted two top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
THE 'BULLRING': In three years of competition at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring, Busch accumulated 65 legends car and 10 late model victories.
VEGAS EXPERIENCE: Since his Bullring days, Busch has competed in all three of NASCAR's top touring divisions -- the Truck Series, Busch Series and NEXTEL Cup Series -- at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In seven combined starts, Busch has posted three top-10 finishes, including a runner-up Cup effort in 2005.
KYLE BUSCH, TEAM OWNER: Busch is a co-owner of driver Alex Haase's No. 56 Chevrolet this season in the NASCAR Grand National Division Series West. Like Busch, the 17-year-old Haase grew up racing at the Bullring from the age of 9 and remains the youngest driver to win a pole at the track. The tables will be turned this week, however, as Haase comes to the track to support his new owner's Busch Series and NEXTEL Cup teams.
BUMMY LIKES HIS ODDS WITH NEW CAR: Crew chief Mike Bumgarner has selected Hendrick Motorsports Chassis No. 403 as the primary option for Saturday's Busch Series event at Las Vegas. The car has never been raced, but was tested at LVMS in February.

KYLE BUSCH, DRIVER OF THE NO. 5 DELPHI CHEVROLET: (ON GROWING UP IN LAS VEGAS.) "Growing up in Las Vegas, for me, wasn't any different than how I think other kids grew up. Away from the strip, it's suburbia out there. It's like any town. I lived in a neighborhood with other kids and went to a normal high school. This is definitely a tourist town with a lot going on, but when you're a kid it's just home."
BUSCH: (EXPLAIN YOUR INVOLVEMENT WITH ALEX HAASE, ANOTHER YOUNG DRIVER FROM LAS VEGAS.) "We've been long-time family friends. Our fathers have known each other for nearly 25 years. They worked together at a car dealership in Vegas and we grew up racing together at the Bullring. We were always in separate divisions, though, because of our seven-year age difference. Alex and I work together now in a business sense, but we're also still really good friends. Every time I come out to Vegas I spend time with him and his family. And he'll be out at the track all this weekend to hang out with us."
BUSCH: (ON BEING A CAR OWNER.) "Being Alex's car owner this year is going to be a pretty different situation for me. I wouldn't necessarily call myself an 'owner' actually. I'm more like the bill payer (LAUGHS). I don't worry about the team or the management side. The crew chief, Mike Naake, will take care of that. He's been crew chief for David Gilliland and Austin Cameron before. He has a lot of experience and I'm looking forward to seeing what he and Alex can do together. That's kind of how the whole program works."
BUSCH: (WILL YOU BE A HANDS-ON OWNER?) "Not being with the team every weekend will definitely affect how hands-on I am. But there will be a couple of weekends where Alex will race at the same track that I am in the Cup Series. At the first Phoenix race, for example, I'll be able to spend some time with the team, watch practice and help them as much as I can. It will be the same scenario for Sonoma (Calif.) in June. I might actually try to get a second car ready to race with them. Maybe when we're on the track together I can help him out."
