JASON LEFFLER AND GREAT CLIPS TEAM HOPING TO KEEP MOMENTUM
GOING IN LAS VEGAS
With his sixth place finish last weekend in Mexico, Leffler moved to 12th in the
NASCAR Busch Series driver point standings, a gain of 16 spots.
Leffler posted his career-best finish at Las Vegas last season by finishing
11th after starting 37th. In three NBS starts at the track, Leffler has
started inside the top-10 twice and has posted finishes of 11th (2006),
22nd (2004) and 28th (2000).
In NCTS competition, Leffler has one start to his credit at Las Vegas
Motor Speedway. In 2002, Leffler notched a 5th place finish after starting
from the 7th spot.
In Nextel Cup competition, Leffler has logged two starts at Las Vegas with a best finish of 22nd in 2005.
LEFFLER ON LAS VEGAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY:
“The new track surface is going to make for a great race this weekend at Las Vegas," said Leffler. "It is super fast and still wide enough that we'll be able to run two and three wide. The Great Clips Toyota was really good during testing but we, like every other team, are facing the unknown of how the new tire Goodyear is bringing will affect our set-up. We had a great run in Mexico last weekend, finishing sixth, so we definitely have momentum in our corner and that is always an added advantage. Luck is the name of the game in the city of Las Vegas and if we can get a little bit thrown our way, we should be in good shape this weekend for a strong finish.”
EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The No. 38 Great Clips team will compete with chassis #23 in this weekend’s Sam’s Town 300. Converted into a Toyota Camry over the off-season, this is the same chassis Leffler drove last season in Michigan (13th), California (24th) and Kansas (31st – accident).
