NOTES:

  • This Week’s BB&T Chevrolet at Lowe’s Motor Speedway … Clint Bowyer will pilot Chassis No. 057 from the Richard Childress Racing (RCR) NASCAR Busch Series (NBS) stable. This is the same BB&T Chevy Bowyer raced to a fourth-place finish two weeks ago at Kansas Speedway. He also finished fifth with this car last year in Kansas. Since then, the car has been outfitted with a new body and received all the required 2007 updates.
  • Fuel Your Dreams … BB&T's exciting Fuel Your Dreams Business Sweepstakes wrapped up on August 31, 2007. It was BB&T's most ambitious deposit acquisition campaign ever, designed to generate new deposit business and spur client, prospect and employee excitement around BB&T Racing. The Grand Prize of the Fuel Your Dreams Business Sweepstakes was a $20,000 marketing budget and the business' logo on the TV panel of the No. 2 BB&T Chevrolet at the October 12th race in Charlotte. Congratulations to the Grand Prize winner, JRI Custom Gunite Pools of Atlanta, Georgia.
  • Pretty Sporty Stuff … In 18 NBS starts this season, Bowyer has amassed two wins, 11 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes. Despite sitting out 12 of the division’s 30 races to date, the Emporia, Kan., driver has led 298 laps and is 13th in driver points following his fourth-place showing two weeks ago at Kansas Speedway.
  • RCR Busch Cars at Charlotte … In 33 NBS starts at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (LMS), RCR boasts six top-five and 15 top-10 finishes with eight different drivers including Bowyer, Jeff Burton, Jeff Green, Kevin Harvick, Ron Hornaday Jr., Jay Sauter, Mike Skinner and Scott Wimmer.
  • Fan Day at RCR … RCR will host a special fan day on Friday, October 12 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. All RCR drivers, including Bowyer, Burton, Harvick, Wimmer and Tim McCreadie, along with team owner Richard Childress will be on hand to sign autographs beginning at 9:30 a.m. In addition to the autograph sessions, there will be museum tours, pit stop ride-a-longs, product discounts, food and live music. Fans should arrive early to get tickets for the autograph sessions and stay all day. Log on to www.rcrracing.com for directions to RCR and more information.
  • Austin Across the Street … On Wednesday, October 10, Austin Dillon, son of RCR’s Vice President of Competition Mike Dillon and grandson of team owner Richard Childress, will compete at the Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway when the World of Outlaws Late Model Series visits Charlotte for the Jani King Southern Showdown. Dillon notched a win at the four-tenths-mile clay oval in May, capturing the checkered flag in the 25-lap Goodyear Fastrak Late Model Challenge event. Gates open at 5 p.m., hot laps are at 6:45 and heat races are slated to begin at 7:30. Tickets are available in advance for $25 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased by calling 1-800-455-FANS or online at www.lowesmotorspeedway.com.

    CLINT BOWYER QUOTES
You’ve been rock solid in your Busch car all year.
“The BB&T Chevrolet has been good all year long. I’ve had a lot of fun racing that car this year and Charlotte should be a really good track for us. It’s the same car we ran well with at Kansas so I’m looking forward to Friday night.”

It seems like anytime you strap into that car anything less than a top five is a disappointment.
“It really is. It’s so much fun to be able to race these RCR Busch cars. It’s pretty tough not to have fun when you get to drive equipment that is as good as ours. You get spoiled pretty quickly when you can say anything less than a top five is a bad day.”
