HOLY GUACAMOLE! DAVE BLANEY HEADS BACK TO THE SCENE OF HIS SUPRISING VICTORY AT LMS:

  • On Friday the 13th and with a full moon overhead, Dave Blaney logged his first career NASCAR victory by holding off Matt Kenseth during a green, white, checkered restart at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Piloting the Hass Avocados from Mexico machine, Blaney’s victory caused race announcers to shout “Holy Guacamole” as he made his way to Victory Lane.
  • The night marked the first NASCAR win for Blaney and his crew chief Trent Owens in only their seventh outing together. Both are hoping by going back to the scene of last year’s win with all the same pieces in place, driver, crew chief, and sponsor, it will be just the magic this team needs to get the No.10 Hass Avocados from Mexico team back in Victory Lane.
  • Lowe’s Motor Speedway has long been one of Dave Blaney’s favorite tracks. He got his first NASCAR pole at LMS in 1998 and captured another one at the track in 2000. In October 2006, Blaney found his way to Victory Lane at LMS, marking his first NASCAR win. Having logged 13 Busch Series starts at Lowe’s, Blaney has recorded four top-five starts and two top-five finishes.

BLANEY ON RACING AT LOWE’S MOTOR SPEEDWAY:
“I always look forward to racing at Lowe’s Motor Speedway; it’s one of my favorite tracks and I picked up my first win at LMS last year. It was a crazy night. We blew a tire and went a lap down early but when we got our lap back we drove straight to the front. We were sitting third and the first two cars, Carl Edwards and Casey Mears, got together and wrecked. I took over the lead but had to hold off Matt Kenseth during the green, white, checkered finish to get the win! This is a special place for this team. That win meant a lot to all of us! We feel like we can be just as competitive this year and hopefully bring home another win for the folks at Hass Avocados from Mexico.”

    EQUIPMENT INFORMATION:
The No. 10 Hass Avocados from Mexico team will compete with chassis #37 in Friday night’s Dollar General 300. This is a brand new chassis that has not been raced before.
