Kansas Speedway Recap

  • Eric McClure competed in his first event at the 1.5 mile tri-oval of Kansas Speedway where he started 40th and finished 42nd after an issue with the gear ended his day.

    No Rest For The Weary

  • Instead of taking the weekend off like most NASCAR Busch Series drivers, McClure went to Talladega, AL to compete in the ARCA/ ReMax Series event.
  • The Virginia native qualified 12th and was able to run in the top 10 in the draft for most of the race. Unfortunately, a late pit-stop put McClure behind and he finished the event in the 25th position.

Lowe’s Motor Speedway: “Rookie” Once Again

  • McClure is once again a “Rookie” this weekend as he has never competed in a NASCAR Busch Series event on the 1.5 mile racing surface of Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
  • The 28-year-old competed in the NEXTEL Open during the 2005 season for Bob Jenkins where he started 23rd and finished 24th
  • Johnny Davis Motorsports has competed in three events at LMS with a best start of 33rd (2006) and a best finish of 24th (2004)

    Eric McClure Quotes:
“This will be a tough task trying to qualify for Charlotte. There are always extra and quality cars there. We were close in May, actually qualifying 36th, so hopefully we can go beat the right cars this time. The guys have worked hard and we want to get in as many of these things as possible as the season winds down.”
