How was your car tonight?
"The first run of the race was actually pretty good, but after that it just went back and forth - too loose then too tight. The car would go in the short run, but then we would die in the long run. We ended up 11th and really that's about all we had tonight. We stayed out on one of the late cautions to try to gain some track position, but then we got shuffled back with the older tires. I was better than I've been the last couple races and a few times tonight we were good enough to run in the top-five. We just couldn't seem to stay up there for a long run. But we had a good points night tonight with Carl (Edwards) and David (Reutimann) having some troubles so we just need to focus on that and I'll get ready for a long day tomorrow."

Finished: 28th How did it feel to get back in a car tonight?
"I knew this was going to be a learning process for all of us tonight. To come back and make so many improvements throughout the night - we were able to make some gains and then took a few steps back too, but that's all part of the deal. Disregarding where we finished tonight, I'm very happy because we obviously learned as a team. I think our car was at its best early on and trying to get our car better or get back on the lead lap were some of our toughest points of the night. The car held together all night and the guys have worked night and day this whole week to get ready for this race. This was my first time to drive a Toyota in competition and I'm very excited for the future because the engine was fantastic, the aero package seemed to be real good too. So, I know things are only going to get better from here. We can leave here with a clean car and now we have an entire race worth of information to use as we move forward."

How was your race car tonight?
"We really missed something tonight on the measurements. After wrecking our primary car in qualifying and then our back-up car was just off - the tires were rubbing the fenders all night and we just kept bottoming out on every lap. We were able to raise the car up during one of the pit stops to get it closer to where it needed to be, but it was just a bad night for us tonight."

What happened that put you out of the race?
"I really don't know what happened. On one-to-go on the pace lap, it started to run hot and started pushing a bunch of water out of it - and would never cool down. I don't know exactly what it was, something internal. It's a huge disappointment for everyone at Michael Waltrip Racing. We never really had the chance to see how good the car was going to be. It felt like car was going to be good and we had a good test here -- and we don't even get a shot. With all the stuff we went through - running over the vent window and destroying the nose and getting it fixed back -- and then we don't even get a shot."
