Location: Concord, N.C.

Reed Sorenson and the No. 41 Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit Dodge Team Facts:

  • Come Play at CGRFS on Kid’s Day this Wednesday: Be sure your kids don’t miss out on their day at Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) Wednesday, May 23. Kids ages 3 to 12 are invited to visit the team’s Concord race shop to get a behind-the-scenes look at the cars before they head to the track and learn more about the mechanics of racing with a special Tech Talk session. Members of the CGRFS pit crews will demonstrate their pit stop techniques, too. Kids won’t leave empty handed either, as they will get to make memories at the photo and craft station. Snacks and beverages will also be on the house! So, bring the kids to meet the mechanics and pit crew members who make the CGRFS cars go full speed ahead and to see a side of racing they have never seen before. Space is limited, so call 1-866-888-6388 today to make your reservation. The green flag will wave promptly at 3:30 p.m. to begin the activities, so don’t be late for this fun date! To learn more and keep up to pace on this event and further team updates, go to www.chipganassiracing.com.
  • It’s All about our Fans: CGRFS will wave the yellow flag this Friday, May 25, and take a break from racing 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET to thank its fans for their support. The Second Annual CGRFS Fan Appreciation Day will involve a variety of activities at the team’s Concord, N.C., race shop, including pit stop demonstrations, games and prizes. A complimentary lunch will be provided by TUMS, but don’t forget to bring in your non-perishable food items to help TUMS Relief for Hunger. All donations will support Speedway Children’s Charities Second Harvest food bank. NASCAR NEXTEL Cup CGRFS drivers David Stremme, Reed Sorenson and Juan Pablo Montoya, will also be at the shop to meet fans and sign autographs from 1 to 3 p.m. ET. Wristbands will guarantee an autograph and can be picked up in person at the team’s gift shop or by calling 1.866.888.6388 to reserve one. Please note autographs are limited to one item per person per driver. To learn more and keep up to pace on this event and further team updates, go to www.chipganassiracing.com.
  • If You Miss Reed, Head to Speed Street: After Sorenson is done visiting with fans on Friday at the CGRFS Fan Day Event, he will head to Uptown Charlotte to meet more fans and sign autographs from 4 to 6 p.m. ET Friday, May 25, at the Speed Street Food Lion’s Kid Zone.
  • Tuned In with Tick: Todd “TICK” Hamm, engine tuner on the No. 41 CGRFS Busch team, will be sharing his thoughts throughout the 2007 season as part of the new “Crew Views” section of the CGRFS website. Hamm posted his first entry last week, but will be posting more updates in the weeks ahead to give a team member’s perspective on the NASCAR Busch Series competition weekends and hot topics. To read his first entry, go to www.chipganassiracing.com and click on “Crew Views.”
  • Testing Things Out: Sorenson spent Monday, May 14, at Lowe’s Motor Speedway during the NASCAR Busch Series scheduled test session. Sorenson tested the No. 42 Busch Series Dodge and wrapped up his one-day test at the Concord, N.C., area track third fastest, lapping the 1.5-mile quad-oval at 180.947 mph in 29.843 seconds.
  • TUMS Relief for Hunger: TUMS is all about providing fast relief and you can join in the effort this month. TUMS is teaming up with Speedway Children's Charities to collect food donations for the Second Harvest food bank during the Charlotte 600 race weekend. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected at LMS during the Memorial Day race weekend and at the CGRFS Fan Day event Friday. Please join TUMS in the effort to provide Relief for Hunger for the families in need.
  • Chassis: Brian Pattie and his Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit crew are pulling out new chassis #753 to race this Saturday at LMS. The car has only been entered in one other race since it was built and that was at Texas Motor Speedway last month. Sorenson raced from a 36th-place starting position to 10th before getting collected in a multi-car accident less than 100 laps into the 200-lap competition. The team did manage to make it back out on the track to finish the day 35th.
  • Don’t Miss It: The Carquest Auto Parts 300 is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET Saturday, May 26, and will broadcast live on ESPN2 (TV), PRN (Radio) and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128. Qualifying for the 200-lap Busch race is scheduled to take place at 4:05 p.m. ET Saturday, and will broadcast live on SPEED.
  • Lagasse Scores another Top Five: Coming off of a victorious ARCA run at Kansas Speedway earlier this month, CGRFS development driver Scott Lagasse Jr. and the No. 4 Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit ARCA team scored a fourth-place finish at Kentucky Speedway Saturday, May 12, in the Buckle-Up Kentucky 150.
  • Graduation Time for Clauson: In addition to his busy race schedule, CGRFS development driver Bryan Clauson is getting ready to make a special walk on Friday, June 1, during his high school graduation from Noblesville High School, but before he graduates the 17-year-old racer will squeeze in two more races. First he will head to Anderson (Ind.) Speedway Wednesday, May 23, to compete in the USAC National Sprint Car race for Keith Kunz Motorsports, and then run for Kunz again at the O’Reilly Raceway Park (ORP) in Clermont, Ind., this Saturday, May 26, to compete in the USAC National Midget Car Series race. Clauson made his third start in David Stremme’s ASA Late Model this past weekend at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Saturday, May 19. Clauson’s run was just getting started when he was taken out by a fellow competitor on lap two of the 150-lap race (finished 30th, started fourth).
  • Bacon Right There with Bryan: Along with Clauson, CGRFS development driver Brady Bacon will also be competing at Anderson Speedway Wednesday in the USAC National Sprint Car race and will then head to ORP, as well, to compete in the USAC National Midget Car race on Saturday. Bacon is coming off of a top-10 finish (ninth place) in the USAC National Midget Car race at the Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., May 12, and a top-15 finish (14th place) in the USAC National Sprint Car race at Terre Haute (Ind.) Action Track May 19.
