Meijer 300 - David Ragan Notes

David Ragan
NASCAR Busch Series: Meijer 300 presented by Oreo
Kentucky Speedway - Saturday June 16
8:00 PM Eastern – ESPN2/MRN

David Ragan
Team: No. 6 Discount Tire Ford Fusion
Crew Chief: Mike Kelley
Chassis: RK-378 Ran at Texas & Nashville this year and finished fifth & seventh

Ragan on racing in the NBS at Kentucky Speedway:
“It was nice to get a good finish last weekend and build our team confidence back up. We are working so hard as a team to right the ship and get back in the hunt for a championship. I know we are not that far away from our first win. Kentucky would be a great place for a breakthrough victory. I have quite a few laps at Kentucky in the ARCA/REMAX series as well as the Craftsman Truck series. We were actually winning the truck race last year with 20 laps to go, but a pit road mistake cost us a win. I will do whatever it takes to put us in position to contend at the end of the race. If we are patient and race within ourselves, everything else should fall into place. I hope that place will be Victory Lane.”

Crew Chief Mike Kelley on racing at Kentucky Speedway:
“We are bringing the same car that ran at Nashville and it is extremely fast. We had a great rebound effort last weekend but we need more finishes like that to get in the top-five in points. I am looking forward to seeing what David can do this weekend. I have a feeling he is going to put on a great show for the fans. David has run very well at Kentucky Speedway in the past, in the ARCA/REMAX series as well as the Craftsman Truck series, so I will not be surprised if he contends for that first win. The Discount Tire Ford Fusion will be among the fastest cars in the field on Saturday. We need to be sound in every phase of the race to be successful. I like our effort and our energy, but we can’t afford any mishaps, no matter how small. If every guy does their job we should be fine.”
