Meijer 300 - Cale Gale Notes

Cale Gale
No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS
Team Report
NASCAR Busch Series Race 16 of 35— Kentucky Speedway

FEDERATED AUTO PARTS 300 RACE RECAP: After qualifying 19th last Saturday night at the Nashville Superspeedway, Cale Gale quickly worked his way into the top 10 and had one of the fastest cars on the one-mile oval, but a late spin on the frontstretch and a flat tire caused Gale and the Camping World racing team to finish in the 26th position, three laps down to the race winner. Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet maintains the sixth position in the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series Owner points

THE NEW KID ON THE BLOCK: When Cale Gale straps into the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet this week, he will be making his seventh NASCAR Busch Series start, but his first at Kentucky Speedway. The Mobile, Ala. native will be considered a new kid to the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval and will have the opportunity to participate in NASCAR’s rookie practice since he has never raced there.

SHOCKING: Cale Gale, who not only races for Kevin Harvick Inc., also helps build shocks for the four KHI teams. “Last weekend our shock specialist’s daughter graduated, so I had to build my own shocks. This is how I got my big break racing as I was hired to build shocks for Phoenix Racing before I jumped into the car and ran a few races,” said Gale.

ROUND TWO OF THREE: Cale Gale will start his second of three straight Busch Series races this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. During the 2007 season, Gale will drive the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series for a total of seven events. He will also sit behind the wheel of the No. 2 Camping World Chevrolet in five NASCAR Truck Series races. Cale will also drive the No. 33 Chevrolet in four Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) races this season to give him a total of 16 events.

LIKE FATHER LIKE SON: When Cale jumps behind the wheel of the No. 33 Camping World Chevrolet this weekend, he will be looking to match his father in the win column for 2007. Bubba Gale, Cale’s father, won a Pro Late Model race at the Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway two weeks ago. “My dad has always been a big supporter of my racing career, but at the same time I am a big supporter of his racing career. He has been racing since before I was born and I don’t think he will be giving it up anytime soon,” said Gale.

CHASSIS 034: The Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway will be the second start for chassis 034 in 2007. In its previous start, the 034 chassis raced at Lowe’s (Charlotte, N.C.) Motor Speedway, where Kevin Harvick started 25th and finished 12th.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Cale Gale started racing go-karts at the age of four.

  • Cale Gale will race 150 laps, 300 miles and make 600 left hand turns at Kentucky Speedway this weekend.
  • In 2006, Cale Gale won his first Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race at Gateway (Ill.) International Raceway after surviving four green-white-checker restarts.

    CALE GALE QUOTES:
ON THE KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY: “It's a neat race track because it's a tri-oval, a one-and-a-half-mile race track, but it has its own uniqueness and has different banking in each of the corners. I have heard from other drivers that it’s a driver's race track because you can move all around and that is what I like.”

    DAN STILLMAN QUOTES:
ON THE FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON SO FAR: “I think it has been a great run so far, but we are only halfway done. Our goal was to stay in the top-10 all season and we have done that as we currently sit sixth in points. I think with the drivers we have behind the wheel as well as our team chemistry, it is just a matter of time before we celebrate in victory lane.”
