QUOTES
Driver Aric Almirola on running this weekend at Kentucky…
“I am excited to climb back behind the wheel of the Rockwell Automation Chevrolet this weekend in Kentucky. I don’t have a lot of experience at Kentucky, other than the truck race last year, but I really like the track. It is a relatively flat track that has a couple of racing grooves. Dave (Rogers) and the team did a great job giving me a fast car last week with a great balance. Hopefully we can build off the top-ten of last week and shoot for a top-five this week.”
Crew Chief Dave Rogers on racing at Kentucky….
“Aric did a good job for us last week at Nashville and I am hoping to build on that this week. He gives great feedback about the car and every change we made last week, we seem to get faster. We put him behind a little last week with some bad fuel mileage, but he did a good job working his way back towards the front. I am still learning what Aric likes in car, but we seem to improve each week. Last year we had a lot of success at Kentucky, so I planning on bringing back a similar setup. Even though the Nextel Cup is in Michigan, we expect to see a lot of Cup driver making the trek to Kentucky. I am confident that Aric and this team can run with them.”
NOTES
Did you know…Last week at Nashville, Aric Almirola scored his first top-ten finish in the Busch Series. Almirola has had a lot of success qualifying a Busch Series car; scoring two poles in his first 10 starts. He also scored a 3rd place starting spot at Martinsville Speedway last year as Denny Hamlin was traveling back from Pocono.
Car History… This week the #20 team is bringing car #2071. This is a brand new car for this season built specifically for 1.5 mile tracks. It has run three races this season, starting in the top 6 in each race. The best race of the season for this car was Texas, where Denny Hamlin led most of the race before settling for second place. This car also finished 10th (Tony Stewart) in Atlanta and 8th (Denny Hamlin) at California.
