Nashville Round-Up
Eric McClure’s second visit to the 1.33 mile Nashville Superspeedway was not what he was hoping for. Rather than improving on his 26th place finish in April, his day ended as a DNF caused by an engine failure on Lap 175 of the 200 lap event.
McClure finished 35th.
Kickin’ It Kentucky Style
Hefty® Brand will be making its first Kentucky Speedway appearance this weekend when the No. 0 Chevrolet takes to the track for the Meijer 300.
McClure will be attempting to make his 28th NASCAR Busch Series start, where he is required to qualify his Chevrolet on time due to not being locked in to the top-30 in owner points.
The Virginia native has competed on the 1.5 mile tri-oval once before where he started 38th and finished 43rd after an engine failure on Lap 5.
Johnny Davis Motorsports has three starts at Kentucky Speedway, with a best start and finish of 30th and 26th (2005).

Eric McClure, driver of the No. 0 Hefty® Brand Chevrolet quotes:
(On the upcoming event at Kentucky Speedway)
“I have really been looking forward to Kentucky. It’s a great place to race, with great fan support. When I was testing for Morgan-McClure Motorsports (2003), it was the first track they took me to. It’s one of my favorites, for sure. Last year we did a start and park with a team there so, this year, hopefully we can get qualified, and we can race.”
(On his thoughts about the season thus far)
“The entire Hefty® racing program is going well, so we’re really glad for that. We’ve had some good races and bad races this year. We need to get better during races and make some better decisions as a group during race weekends. It’s no secret that we’re a smaller team with less resources and personnel than the others, but we’ve overachieved at times this year. The Busch Series is so competitive this year, more than any other in recent years, so we don’t have much room for error.”
“We’ve begun to turn our qualifying around a little but, as a result, it seems our races have not been as good, or we’ve had more bad luck recently. The guys are all working hard, and I’m driving as hard and smart as I can, but we’re working to get on the same page and find the combination that really helps us. I think the more experience we can get together, the more laps I get at these new tracks, the better we will be. Most importantly, we need to keep making races.”
