DID YOU KNOW? TWO Raybestos® Rookies have won pole positions this season: Ragan and Brad Colelman, who claimed the top starting position for the Aaron’s 312 at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (race No. 10).
DID YOU KNOW? Ragan joins Casey Atwood as the only Raybestos® Rookies to win a pole positions at Homestead. Atwood claimed the top starting spot for the 1998 Jiffy Lube 300.
RAGAN: “I’m really looking forward to the race. This is possibly the toughest race of the year. Everybody wants to win that last race or at least run well so we’re going to work really hard and hopefully we’ll learn some things from today’s Busch race. I know I will. I know the cars are a little different but if I can get a little heads-up on everybody and we’ll see what happens today and hopefully we’ll have some fun for tomorrow.” THIS IS THE FINAL BUSCH POLE AWARD. “That’s pretty special. I really haven’t put much thought into it like that. I’m sure years down the road that will mean a lot. Anheuser-Busch has done a tremendous amount for this NASCAR Busch Series. To be a young kid watching all the guys like Jeff Green and Matt Kenseth and Dale Jr. race four,
five or 10 years ago and to be part of it at the end is pretty special and definitely look forward to a long career in the Nationwide Series also.”
