St. Louis Fast Facts
Eric McClure will be attempting his 33rd career NASCAR Busch Series start this weekend in the running of the NASCAR Busch Series 250 at Gateway International Raceway.
McClure will have to qualify his No. 0 Hefty® Chevrolet on time as he is not locked in the valued top 30 in owner points.
The 28-year-old has yet to have any competitive laps on the 1.25 mile oval. Therefore, McClure will be considered a rookie for the ninth time this season.
Johnny Davis Motorsports has competed in two Busch Series events at Gateway International Raceway, where the team has a best start of 26th (2005) and a best finish of 39th (2006).
Up To Speed
Catch the Hefty® Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series 250 on Saturday, July 21 beginning at 8:00pm (EDT) on ESPN 2. MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio will also broadcast the event live.
Eric McClure, driver of the No. 0 Hefty® Chevrolet quotes:
”I'm really looking forward to getting back to the racetrack after Chicago. St. Louis is a cool place with a lot of NASCAR fan support. It is somewhat shaped like a paperclip, with long straightaways, a tight turn and a longer turn. It's a stand-alone event, but a lot of cup teams will be there with different guys and what not. I'm a rookie, as well, so we'll have to get up to speed quick so we can be on our game for qualifying. We've had a tough road the last few weeks so, hopefully, we can get the Hefty machine in the show and then go race."
