WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER NOTES FOR THE ROADLOANS.COM 200 NASCAR BUSCH SERIES RACE AT DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2007.
Mike Bliss earned WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in today’s RoadLoans.com 200. Bliss led once for 14 laps and claimed the honor for the first time this season. He had led three times in two races for a total of 16 laps.
Bliss finished fourth at Dover, his best finish of the 2007 season. He grabbed his first top-five and seventh top-10 in 18 starts.
Mike Wallace leads Jason Leffler by one race (5-4) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings.
BLISS QUOTES: “That was great. We knew we had a good car. I screwed up and sped down pit road and screwed up our strategy there but we came back. We stayed out that one time and that was a good call. All in all our Supercuts Dodge was pretty good today. Winning the WIX award is good for this team. Kind of the underdog, I guess. You get tired of hearing it and saying it but we’re working real hard and we beat some good cars today.” WHAT WAS YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE TODAY? “Keeping the thing free up enough to where you weren’t going to wreck yourself to be good in traffic. Out front you were a lot better. You were a lot freer than in traffic. I screwed up on pit road, sped, and we had to come back. That was the biggest challenge, just trying to keep your head and miss wrecks.”
